Should You Switch to iWork?

If you’re an Apple fan you’ve probably had all of their Macs, iPods, and the new iPad. But have you tried iWork? Most people are scared to switch because they feel it’s incompatible with other suites like Microsoft Office which was proven most popular on a poll in our sidebar! I’d like to start by assuring you that it is in fact compatible! Where’s my reference? It says so right on the iWork box! The suite consist of Pages, Keynote and Numbers. Pages is a standard text editor like Microsoft Word, Keynote is like PowerPoint but much more advanced and Numbers is a standard spreadsheet creator like Excel. Unlike other companies, Apple focuses on detail like the quality of how something looks that is created with their software for example a movie created in iMovie. iWork is much the same, it features stunning templates and graphics to make your work look truly amazing. iWork includes what is probably the most professional presentation creation software on the planet! Keynote features stunning templates, animations and transitions to make presentations look jaw dropping. In fact Apple uses Keynote to create their own keynote presentations during product unveilings and special events. If you’ve got an iPad you can get the same 3 programs each as an app. They’ve got just about everything the Mac version has other than having a few less templates. To grab iWork for yourself or find out more be sure to visit their website and don’t go without watching our video preview.

Why not just take your MacBook on its own? Of course you can’t just take it bear, it must have some form of protection. If you’re someone who has thought about this, don’t go without checking out The Overlap MacBook Sleeve. Probably the most ingenious part of the sleeve is the lip underneath the zipper. Unlike most sleeves where the laptop simply slides in and zips up, the sleeve actually has a lip which tucks over and secures the laptop inside. This is so that the MacBook doesn’t shake around and possibly get damaged while inside the sleeve. It also features a pocket on the top where you can keep other small accessories like a screen cloth. Speaking of screen cloths it comes with one of those as well which doubles and a keyboard protector while the laptop is not in use! Geeks Use More Than One Monitor – Which Ones?

Posted in Reviews by Alec Morgana on July 5, 2010 2 Comments

It’s hard to find a geek these days with only one monitor. Most geeks like myself can’t live or work without at least two. And you have to give them credit that they also look pretty cool! The real question is, which monitors should you have? The Samsung Wide LCD ACL large 21.5″ monitor is definitely one you shouldn’t go without taking a look at! Without even turning on the display you can see just how stunning it is. Its got a unique glossy shape and decorative blue light under the logo where the virtual buttons are. There aren’t any buttons on the monitor just labels and when your finger comes into contact with one of the labels whatever you tapped is performed. Kind of like using an iPhone! I know you’re probably already sold but I shouldn’t go without mentioning that it also displays full 1080p high definition quality. Overall this monitor is a great add on to any Mac or PC. If you’d like more specs on the monitor visit their website for full details. Don’t forget to check out our unboxing and demo video as well. Mac users, don’t forget the mini display port adapter! Which monitor do you use?
