Hard Shell iPhone Case – Thin Guard

Posted in Reviews by Alec Morgana on November 25, 2010 1 Comment

Yes again we’ve got a review for Logiix! This time we’re reviewing the Thin Guard hard plastic shell case for the iPhone 3G and 3GS. It’s very thin, light, smooth and professional. It’s more of a decorative case however, it doesn’t give much protection around the front of your phone. For the everyday user that likes to slip it in and out of their pocket easily without sticky silicone and bulk, this is for you! The shell has been nicely cut out to fit around the switches, ports, speakers etc. to give you full access while it’s in the case. The one thing I didn’t like is the fact that it is quite difficult to remove, there must be some trick to it that Logiix has not included in the instructions! If you have super human strength don’t worry, you’ll be able to get it off very easily. Overall, the case is very stylish and can really add to your already beautiful iPhone while also providing protection on the back of your device from scratches etc. when you set it down. The other thing I liked about the case is that it’s very strong, other shell cases simply snap and break after a few times of taking it on and off. I’ve bent it in just about every way and it’s still fully intact! For most people the removal difficulties is not an issue, usually you wouldn’t take your case off too often. Apple went “Back to the Mac”. What’s new?

Posted in News by Alec Morgana on October 20, 2010 No Comments yet

Today in Cupertino, Apple introduced us to some pretty incredible updates, as usual. The first announcement was pretty expected. Apple introduced us to iLife 11 featuring iPhoto 11, iMovie 11, GarageBand 11, and the other usuals. iPhoto now includes full screen mode, enhanced social networking tools, enhanced book and card creation and of course they threw in a few more slideshow themes. iMovie now has enhanced tools for editing audio inside clips, more video effects, news and sports themes and movie trailer creation templates. GarageBand now includes the ability to automatically reorder and sync audio clips of various instruments into a nice sounding tune. Also, music lessons for Piano and Guitar have also been topped up and now monitor you as you learn and show your mistakes and improvements. Apple also threw in by popular demand, FaceTime. It allows you to have a video call with an iPhone 4 or iPod touch on your Mac. It’s not part of iLife 11 and is available as a beta here now. We could all see a lion in the picture and yes, 10.7 Lion is here! Apple says they brought many popular iOS features More…

iPad Roadster Folio Case – Logiix.net

Posted in Reviews by Alec Morgana on September 9, 2010 No Comments yet

With so many iPad folio cases out there, it’s really hard to find one that’s actually worth the price. Luckily I’ve come across the Roadster Folio Case by Logiix. It’s strong and well built while maintaining a thin, sleek and professional looking design. The exterior is a nice simple carbon fibre pattern. As soon as you open the case you’ll find well stitched pockets on the interior of the cover great for keeping credit cards or notes. Unlike other folio cases which simply hold the iPad inside with cheap straps that even cover some controls, the roadster folio features a full iPad cover while keeping all controls accessible at the same time. The interior of the case where the iPad is secured is soft fabric keeping it safe from scratches or marks. The biggest highlight of the case for me is it’s incline. Simply flipping the top cover to the back of the case and attaching it to a fold out holder will allow you to view your iPad on a slight angle perfect for typing and also straight up great for watching movies etc. If you’d like to find out more about the roadster iPad folio visit the Logiix website and follow them on twitter. Don’t forget to watch our video unboxing and review of the case.

September Apple Event Recap – What’s New?

Posted in News by Alec Morgana on September 1, 2010 No Comments yet

Today at Apple’s annual September iPod event they unveiled a full new line of iPods. Before I get into detail about those I also want to mention that iOS 4.1 for the iPhone and iPod touch will be available this week. Other than Game Centre being added it’s mostly bug fixes. 4.2 is coming in November for the iPad with all of the new features like multitasking. First Apple introduced the new iPod shuffle. The original buttons have been re added and of course voice over is still their as well. The iPod nano has been literally cut in half. The click wheel is gone and has been replaced with an incredible multitouch screen with icons which you can interact with much like and iOS device. The new iPod nano is only slightly larger than the iPod shuffle. Apple also introduced its new iPod touch which by popular demand has been suited up with an HD camera on the back as well as a front facing camera for FaceTime. As far as looks, it’s still the same silver back and now has the incredible retina display and is much thinner. We thought that was all but it wasn’t. More…

Inside the Apple Wireless Keyboard

Posted in Reviews by Alec Morgana on August 31, 2010 No Comments yet

Apple’s wireless keyboard can be used for many different things. Its main uses are of course for a Mac, iPad and now even iPhone. Since the release of iOS 4 the iPhone can now connect to a wireless keyboard as well. The keyboard connects simply over bluetooth, there is no receiver to plug into your computer. It’s also incredibly light and thin taking up virtually no space on your desk. It takes just 2 AA batteries which last a good 2 months if you turn it off while it’s not in use. As far as the exterior of the keyboard, it’s the same aluminum as Macs, has plastic keys and plastic on the bottom. The only thing it’s missing is light up keys but I can understand why they’re not there to improve battery usage. The wireless keyboard also works wonders for the iPad. The iPad goes from a tablet to a laptop in a matter of seconds by connecting it in the settings. Of course it works the exact same way with the iPhone as well. If you’d like to find out more about the Apple Wireless keyboard visit their website for full details. Don’t forget to watch our video review where we demo it on all 3 devices.
