Tomorrow Apple will be holding their “Back to the Mac” event in Cupertino. You can guess it got its title to symbolize that they finally have something new for Macs after all the recent iOS news. With each event announcement comes a photo. The photo for this event features an apple logo pealed back revealing a lion, possibly the name of the new Mac OS 10.7. Although the Apple OS systems are usually not released to the users for a whole year after announced, it is still definitely something to be excited about. The MacBook air is also rumored to be updated, with a smaller screen, possibly 11″. The “MacTouch” is yet another rumor that has been floating around the internet for quite a long time. Apple sent in patents for a large touch type mac. While this seems a little unreasonable, it is definitely possible as Apple strives to be the best and first in everything. The last rumor is the 7″ iPad, almost like a little brother to the 10″ iPad that has already been out for 6 months. This is almost More…

By now you’ve probably heard of the movie “The Social Network”. A movie centered around an “average” nerd that attends Harvard and wants to amp his social life through the internet. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of the infamous site Facebook, had a movie made about him and his journey from being a geeky nobody, to the world’s youngest billionaire. As always with Hollywood movies, there is drama. Drama, that could to some, ruin Mark Zuckerberg. When asked what he thought about the movie he replied, “It’s a movie. It’s fun. A lot of it is fiction. Even the filmmakers will say that.” Zukerberg was asked to appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show, and announced his 100 million dollar donation to New Jersey public schools. Some believe this was a major Public Relations move to help mask all the bad things he did in college. Oprah said she asked Zuckerberg to appear on the show, he wanted it to be an anonymous gift and that the timing had more to do with her More…

Today at Research In Motion’s annual BlackBerry Developer Conference, CEO Mike Lazaridis announced the company’s new tablet, The PlayBook. This tablet will run a new OS called “The BlackBerry tablet OS”. The 7 inch tablet has a 3 mega pixel front facing camera for video conferencing and a 5 mega pixel rear facing camera capable of shooting full 1080p video. Yes, it’s able to handle Flash content via Flash 10.1, and it’s Cortex A9-based with dual-core 1GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, equipped with an HDMI port as well as a microUSB jack, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, and Bluetooh 2.1. They’re calling it the fastest tablet ever. The device is also a tiny 5.1 by 7.6 inches, is only 0.4-inches thick, and weighs just 400g, about 0.9 pounds. That is one sleek device but, BlackBerry did not announce the PlayBook’s battery life. When it comes to interface, the tablet looks to be a mix of webOS and BlackBerry OS. RIM didn’t hand out any solid launch dates beyond “Early 2011,” and of course, there was no mention of retail price. With that “monster” of a tablet, will the iPad be affected? More…

What is Google Instant?

Posted in News by Reed Barthold on September 19, 2010 No Comments yet

Google Instant, the new way to make a search on Google is already catching many people’s attention. They’re claiming that it will cut down your search by 2-5 seconds. When you start typing something into the search box it it automatically begins showing results from what it thinks you’re looking for. For example if you type “Your” it will show results with the word “Your” in them. If you type “YourTech” everything with those words will appear. If what you want still isn’t there, you type “YourTechStop” and the website link will be right in front of you. During typing, there are also grey letters in front of what you’re typing to suggest what you are looking for. If what Google guesses is right, you’re done! Visit Google to try it out for yourself. Don’t forget to watch Reed give us a demo video of how it works.
