Inside the Apple Wireless Keyboard

Apple’s wireless keyboard can be used for many different things. Its main uses are of course for a Mac, iPad and now even iPhone. Since the release of iOS 4 the iPhone can now connect to a wireless keyboard as well. The keyboard connects simply over bluetooth, there is no receiver to plug into your computer. It’s also incredibly light and thin taking up virtually no space on your desk. It takes just 2 AA batteries which last a good 2 months if you turn it off while it’s not in use. As far as the exterior of the keyboard, it’s the same aluminum as Macs, has plastic keys and plastic on the bottom. The only thing it’s missing is light up keys but I can understand why they’re not there to improve battery usage. The wireless keyboard also works wonders for the iPad. The iPad goes from a tablet to a laptop in a matter of seconds by connecting it in the settings. Of course it works the exact same way with the iPhone as well. If you’d like to find out more about the Apple Wireless keyboard visit their website for full details. Don’t forget to watch our video review where we demo it on all 3 devices.

Flash and iDevices Finally Meet!

Posted in Tutorials by Alec Morgana on August 10, 2010 No Comments yet

No I can’t say that Apple has now allowed Flash on their iPhones, iPods or iPads but what I can report is that there are in fact ways to get it running with applications actually available on the AppStore for free with no jailbreaking or software modifications required. Pick up either Cloud Browse or Mocha VNC Lite and you’ll be able to get this to work! Cloud Browse works by allowing you to use flash on a web browser from their own servers. Other than a little lag it works great! The only downside is that they limit the amount of time you spend on it so that other users can use the service as well. Mocha VNC Lite works by connecting to your own computer either Mac or PC and displaying your computer screen on your iDevice’s screen allowing you to control it. You’ve probably already caught onto this one! Simply open up your web browser on your computer and enjoy using flash! Of course because you’re using your own computer there is no limit on the service like Cloud Browse. The only downside is that there is no audio with Mocha VNC Lite, there is audio with Cloud Browse! I hope you enjoy exploring new media, videos and games run on flash on your iDevices. Now you don’t need to complain to Apple anymore, your device has everything it needs! Be sure to watch our full video demonstration of both of these apps!

Should You Switch to iWork?

Posted in Reviews by Alec Morgana on July 27, 2010 1 Comment

If you’re an Apple fan you’ve probably had all of their Macs, iPods, and the new iPad. But have you tried iWork? Most people are scared to switch because they feel it’s incompatible with other suites like Microsoft Office which was proven most popular on a poll in our sidebar! I’d like to start by assuring you that it is in fact compatible! Where’s my reference? It says so right on the iWork box! The suite consist of Pages, Keynote and Numbers. Pages is a standard text editor like Microsoft Word, Keynote is like PowerPoint but much more advanced and Numbers is a standard spreadsheet creator like Excel. Unlike other companies, Apple focuses on detail like the quality of how something looks that is created with their software for example a movie created in iMovie. iWork is much the same, it features stunning templates and graphics to make your work look truly amazing. iWork includes what is probably the most professional presentation creation software on the planet! Keynote features stunning templates, animations and transitions to make presentations look jaw dropping. In fact Apple uses Keynote to create their own keynote presentations during product unveilings and special events. If you’ve got an iPad you can get the same 3 programs each as an app. They’ve got just about everything the Mac version has other than having a few less templates. To grab iWork for yourself or find out more be sure to visit their website and don’t go without watching our video preview.

Posted in Reviews by Alec Morgana on July 20, 2010 No Comments yet

Are you someone who likes to take your MacBook between work or school and home on a regular basis? Most people that have a laptop do. It’s not always fun to carry around a large and heavy laptop bag! Why not just take your MacBook on its own? Of course you can’t just take it bear, it must have some form of protection. If you’re someone who has thought about this, don’t go without checking out The Overlap MacBook Sleeve. The very professional looking black sleeve features neoprene fabric much like a wet suit for the beach. This makes it extra strong while also providing shock absorbent much like silicone. Probably the most ingenious part of the sleeve is the lip underneath the zipper. Unlike most sleeves where the laptop simply slides in and zips up, the sleeve actually has a lip which tucks over and secures the laptop inside. This is so that the MacBook doesn’t shake around and possibly get damaged while inside the sleeve. It also features a pocket on the top where you can keep other small accessories like a screen cloth. Speaking of screen cloths it comes with one of those as well which doubles and a keyboard protector while the laptop is not in use! To find out more about the sleeve visit the Logiix website and don’t forget to check out our video review of this great sleeve where you can see it in action for yourself!
