Island Racer – Bakno.com

There are always people using the famous excuse why not to buy a Mac “They can’t run good games!”. I can’t count how many examples of great games there are for Macs to prove this is false. Probably one of the best examples is an amazing racing game known as Island Racer! It works on both Mac and PC but for the sake of the review, we tested it on a Mac. The first thing anyone would point out is the graphics. The amount of detail in the cars and scenery around them is incredible. It really shows what a Mac can do! Realism is one of the games best features. Different cars perform better on different tracks, make different engine noises and much more. During the game you can enjoy driving around the maps on your own, against a computer or even online against your friends who have the game. This all sounds great but what really makes the game unique and fun is your ability to ditch the roads and take your car anywhere you want. There are no invisible boundaries. In fact, once I went so far out into the ocean with my car I got lost and couldn’t get back! When you’re not driving into the water you can jump off cliffs and use many of the obstacles provided around the maps. At only $19.95 this game is a steal when you consider the cost of others that do not allow you to do this! Grab the free trial by visiting our free downloads page. Don’t forget to visit their website and watch our video review of the game!

New Nintendo Hardware to Support 3D Gaming

Posted in News by Alec Morgana on March 30, 2010 No Comments yet

Ever thought of playing a game in 3D on a Nintendo? It’s now possible and 3D glasses are not required! Nintendo announced that their new 3DS will be available in stores somewhere between April 2010 and March 2011. There hasn’t been any actual proof or demonstrations of this new hardware and some people, like myself, are finding it hard to believe. Nintendo is known for taking short cuts with their products to keep costs down. This was seen with the release of the Wii when the motion controls were a bit poor. Creating 3D technology inside a mobile console would be very expensive and Nintendo might end up taking another short cut therefor providing a product with either glitchy or poor 3D gaming. It’s almost not fair to speculate negatively due to the fact that no one has seen anything and really has nothing to comment on other than the words of Nintendo representatives. For all we know, Nintendo has created a remarkable revolutionary device like the iPhone! What do you think we can expect?

Microsoft Drops Live For Its Original Xbox

Posted in News by Alec Morgana on February 5, 2010 2 Comments

Microsoft has officially announced that their “Live” service for the original Xbox will be discontinued on April 15th. This includes original games played on the Xbox 360. Microsoft claims that the reason for this is to encourage original Xbox users to move on their latest and greatest console. Users who are die hard fans of famous games such as Halo 2 will be very disappointed with the news. All current games made for the Xbox 360 will continue to run live as usual so there’s no need to panic if you’re up to date! If you’re like me, and are still using an Xbox from the stone age, I think we can officially say, it’s time to upgrade! What do you think?

It was also leaked like the PSP Go. Sony really needs to keep some secrets! It is now available for pre-order through Kmart and Sears and will be available everywhere the first week of September. The price of this Console is actually less then its family member, the PS3, at $300. Thats €299, $299 US, and ¥29,980. It sounds a little pricy, but thats before you hear the Specs! It has a Blu-ray player, a 120GB hard disk, DualShock3 controller, and HDMI output with 1080p support, and is consumes 34% less power, and will be 32% smaller! The 5 words I am going to leave you with is “I’m getting one, are you”?
