Flash and iDevices Finally Meet!

No I can’t say that Apple has now allowed Flash on their iPhones, iPods or iPads but what I can report is that there are in fact ways to get it running with applications actually available on the AppStore for free with no jailbreaking or software modifications required. Pick up either Cloud Browse or Mocha VNC Lite and you’ll be able to get this to work! Cloud Browse works by allowing you to use flash on a web browser from their own servers. Other than a little lag it works great! The only downside is that they limit the amount of time you spend on it so that other users can use the service as well. Mocha VNC Lite works by connecting to your own computer either Mac or PC and displaying your computer screen on your iDevice’s screen allowing you to control it. You’ve probably already caught onto this one! Simply open up your web browser on your computer and enjoy using flash! Of course because you’re using your own computer there is no limit on the service like Cloud Browse. The only downside is that there is no audio with Mocha VNC Lite, there is audio with Cloud Browse! I hope you enjoy exploring new media, videos and games run on flash on your iDevices. Now you don’t need to complain to Apple anymore, your device has everything it needs! Be sure to watch our full video demonstration of both of these apps!

Apple Development Improvements – Xcode 4

Posted in News by Alec Morgana on June 29, 2010 No Comments yet

At Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference this year they gave developers a sneak peak preview of their new Xcode. One thing that Apple needs to stay on top of is their resources for developers. After all, without developers there would be no AppStore, Macs would have less tools and it just goes on. Apple claims to have created a much nicer development experience for programmers and developers using Xcode to create software for Apple devices. When you think about it they’re partly competing with other companies like Microsoft. Developers would prefer developing for a platform with a more comfortable and fun experience. Which ever platform has more people developing software for it will have more software and will attract more users to it because of that! That’s one area where Macs are behind as PCs currently have a lot more 3rd party software. With Xcode 4 Apple is hoping to bring some of the PC 3rd party software to their platform by encouraging developers to jump into Xcode. The biggest change that Apple has made is having Interface Builder built into Xcode so that developers can see everything at once while being organized at the same time. Anyone could see how writing code all day could get boring and Xcode 4 is trying to make it fun again!

Introducing iPhone 4 – Revolutionary Again…

Posted in News by Alec Morgana on June 8, 2010 No Comments yet

It seems there is always something new and exciting to report from Apple! Their World Wide Developers Conference kicked off today with Steve Jobs unveiling the new iPhone. They’re calling it iPhone 4. They’re also renaming the OS itself “iOS 4″ as it’s used on the iPod touch as well and fits better. A few months ago they gave us a preview of iOS 4 and showed us backgrounds on the home screen, organizing apps in folders and of course multitasking! But today Apple has brought even more, they’ve introduced brand new hardware and completely remade the iPhone! Video calling, high definition 720p video recording, retina display and so much more is now a part of this already amazing device! The new retina display in the iPhone is not only the best display ever in a mobile device, it’s truly remarkable! It produces such good quality on screen that the human eye can’t see individual pixels. Also built in is a 5 megapixel camera including an LED flash taking beautiful full size pictures and recording stunning 720p HD video. The 3GS brought video trimming but the iPhone 4 is bringing the entire iMovie! For only $4.99 you will be able to create, edit and share full videos on the go. The biggest feature of the iPhone is by far video calling. Although it can only currently be done on Wifi between two iPhone 4s, it still makes anyone speechless. To be able to see someone live in front of you on your phone while you talk is an amazing experience! As always, there is so much to talk about with Apple devices. The iPhone 4 will be available in the US and 5 other countries on June 24th. To view more photos and full specs click here to visit the Apple website. What do you think? Disappointed, excited, upgrading or not?

Posted in News by Alec Morgana on April 8, 2010 4 Comments

Released today by Apple, what they’re calling iPhone 4 is a major update to the iPhone operating system. This update gives all kinds of new features including a wallpaper behind your icons, organizing icons in folders on the home screen, and by popular demand, multitasking! If you know a thing or two about jailbreaking, you’ll recognize the wallpaper and folders as a jailbreak feature! Not any more! Now you’ll recognize them as iPhone features! One of the biggest rumors for the iPhone OS 4.0 update was multitasking which of course has been added as well. Apple has created a system that allows you to run multiple applications at once and by simply double tapping the home button, you can navigate between them! There are over 100 new user features to talk about and this article would be extremely long if I talked about all of them! Some other new features to look forward to include an enhanced Mail app with some new capabilities as well as by popular request, the iPad iBook store will be available for the iPhone as well! Apple said that this amazing new update will be available to the public in the summer and developers can try out a preview of it now! We will have a video demo and preview soon, we’ll be sure to let you know when it’s up!

Opera Browser Coming to Your iPhone

Posted in News by Alec Morgana on March 23, 2010 3 Comments

Announced just a few hours ago by Opera, a popular web browser creator, their new Opera browser for the iPhone has gone into review with Apple. Whether or not it will even be approved is another story. Apple has rejected other web browsers in the past. Watching their demonstration video gives evidence that it allows you to open multiple tabs in a simple to use interface as well as copy images, open links in new tabs and much more. The speed of their browser is alone a reason to give it a download. They took two identical iPhones, one using the Safari browser and one using their Opera browser. The speed difference was incredible, the Opera browser loaded five pages in the time that Safari loaded one! It’s really hard to say if it was a set up but visually it seems legitimate. If this Opera browser is truly as good as they made it look in their video, I would love to download and try it out for myself! But we shouldn’t speak to soon as Apple could reject it in the next few minutes! Click here to watch their live count up clock on their website for its submission to Apple.
