Island Racer – Bakno.com

There are always people using the famous excuse why not to buy a Mac “They can’t run good games!”. I can’t count how many examples of great games there are for Macs to prove this is false. Probably one of the best examples is an amazing racing game known as Island Racer! It works on both Mac and PC but for the sake of the review, we tested it on a Mac. The first thing anyone would point out is the graphics. The amount of detail in the cars and scenery around them is incredible. It really shows what a Mac can do! Realism is one of the games best features. Different cars perform better on different tracks, make different engine noises and much more. During the game you can enjoy driving around the maps on your own, against a computer or even online against your friends who have the game. This all sounds great but what really makes the game unique and fun is your ability to ditch the roads and take your car anywhere you want. There are no invisible boundaries. In fact, once I went so far out into the ocean with my car I got lost and couldn’t get back! When you’re not driving into the water you can jump off cliffs and use many of the obstacles provided around the maps. At only $19.95 this game is a steal when you consider the cost of others that do not allow you to do this! Grab the free trial by visiting our free downloads page. Don’t forget to visit their website and watch our video review of the game!

Geeks Use More Than One Monitor – Which Ones?

Posted in Reviews by Alec Morgana on July 5, 2010 2 Comments

It’s hard to find a geek these days with only one monitor. Most geeks like myself can’t live or work without at least two. And you have to give them credit that they also look pretty cool! The real question is, which monitors should you have? The Samsung Wide LCD ACL large 21.5″ monitor is definitely one you shouldn’t go without taking a look at! Without even turning on the display you can see just how stunning it is. Its got a unique glossy shape and decorative blue light under the logo where the virtual buttons are. There aren’t any buttons on the monitor just labels and when your finger comes into contact with one of the labels whatever you tapped is performed. Kind of like using an iPhone! I know you’re probably already sold but I shouldn’t go without mentioning that it also displays full 1080p high definition quality. Overall this monitor is a great add on to any Mac or PC. If you’d like more specs on the monitor visit their website for full details. Don’t forget to check out our unboxing and demo video as well. Mac users, don’t forget the mini display port adapter! Which monitor do you use?

Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD

Posted in Reviews by Alec Morgana on January 12, 2010 1 Comment

The Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD is an extraordinary webcam. It shoots incredible high definition, widescreen video. The webcam is also equipped with a digital microphone including noise canceling technology which has little feedback and sounds pretty good. One of my favorite features of the webcam is the flexible mount on the underside used for attaching the product to your computer or elsewhere. The mount bends forward and backward making it the perfect fit for any monitor. The outer body is made of aluminum and looks very nice. Another thing I was surprised about was the size of the webcam, it is substantially smaller than I anticipated when looking at it on the internet. This webcam is going to cost you somewhere around $90.00 and is not what people usually pay for a webcam. While it films beautifully on a PC, using the webcam with a Mac is not quite the same experience. The quality is reduced, the frame rate drops and auto focus doesn’t work. While all of this sounds terrible, overall it is a very professional and good quality webcam. Make sure you keep all of that in mind when purchasing this product. Microsoft Office 2010

Posted in News by Logan Bohbot on September 7, 2009 5 Comments

When the new Microsoft Office comes out in the first half of 2010, Microsoft expects a lot of business and personal computer users to go out and buy it.  It has a lot of new features but the one major difference that is visible is shown in the Outlook application. That feature would be the different paste options you can perform.  I am not talking about the Control C then Control V, I am talking about merging the formatting to the right and the left instead of just the alignment options the offer. These new features in all of the programs are very interesting and helpful. But how much will this product be? Well, the price has not been announced yet but it should be same usual price of $39.9 which is the one user option.
